Welcome to November

Hello all-who happen to stumble across this worthless excuse of a blog-and welcome to the new month of the most productive year of my life so far. Yes, I am so pathetic that I have yet to achieve what I have thus far(the amount being close to nothing). However, this is going to change this month. I am going to force my stupid, ADD, psychotic, delusional ass down to finish what I need to get done and make sure I post blogs more often as I have been slipping up bad. I will also be commenting on the blogs of the people I follow far more often than I have so those whom that concerns can rest uneasy as I shall be invading their spaces.

A couple of things going on that should be noted: we are building a space station in space which has been under construction for a few years and will be for probably the majority of the next two years. Once it is complete, the current shuttle model will be decommissioned and the new model will be constructed and used instead. At the current level of technology we utilize to do our business in space, no satellites originating from Earth will reach even the nearest solar system within several thousand years. Until we find a way to create artificial gravity and utilize it in space and protect ourselves from solar radiation, there will be no missions to Mars.
There will be no catastrophic event that will annihilate humanity in 2012, let alone this century-we would not have any knowledge of any actual major event as it would threaten National Security. Global Warming is not going to destroy our world nor render it inhabitable, but IT IS SOMETHING THAT MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. We cannot go on polluting on the level that we are as it is harmful to the environment. If you require proof of climate change then all you need to do is take a walk outside.
Obama's primary focus has not been progressing the way it should be which has led to his ratings being in between 40-50%. This is extremely low for a President during their first year in office, but he has actually been doing his job-unlike every President within the last half century-and that is what has led to his relatively low ratings. We all know the arguments on both sides of the issue and we all know where I stand so I shall not waste my time going into a rant.
As for what has been going on in the LGBT community, I suggest you go http://spiffykt.blogspot.com/ and http://genderbitch.wordpress.com/ for information as I feel they sum up, as for what is actually relevant to society, what we all need to know.

Now, for what I shall be working on. I am working on four novels-I know(I am insane). One is a cross between Ghost Hutners and Condemned: Criminal Origins. Another is a horror story that tales some elements from A Christmas Carol and inserts them into a Gothic world of fearies and and a representation of death. Another has been mentioned on myspace and has the title of In Flux. The last one is ...well, I will get around to that when the time is correct.

I have also made real head way on the creation of my first recurring transexual character, Panda-san. She is a Japanese-American who has not completely made the change as she has some personal unspoken hold-ups about "shedding her manhood." She is so internalized about it that she will not even tell her constant companion, the post-op Starr-chan. The first story she will appear in will neither be focused on her nor will she actually be in it. However, she will be mentioned and I will spend at least five short stories exploring her somewhat defeated, yet comical attitude toward life. What can I say? I like borderline nihilistic characters struggling through life.

More is to come-including announcements of publications I will be appearing in-but, for the time being, all I have to say is Welcome to November!!!!

Love,
Lain, Rhys and Austurias.

Transexuality in Californication

It is no secret nor Universal mystery that I love the show on which David Duchovny stars, Californication. This show about his hedonistic, seemingly immoral, misbehavior in the city of L.A. has been a love of mine since I saw the first episode. The first season proved to be immaculate television for my tastes and the second season, despite not being as strong, had really engaging moments due to the frictional encounters between Hank and Mia and Hank's comradery with Producer Lou Ashby.

During the first episode of the current season, I was unsure if it would live up to its track history as the story felt rushed and the daughter became far less interesting-why, Mr. Kapinos, why????-after two seasons of being my favorite supporting actor/character.

However, each episode has been better than the last and last night's episode touched on a subject that I relate to and I appreciate the makers for handling the way they did. In the episode, which I believe can be viewed in its entirety on Shotime's website, Hank's old high school friend-who has had a falling out with his wife-shows up in L.A. to turn Hank's life on its ass. It is quickly evident that this guy, despite having some good intentions as revealed later in the episode, is a bit of a misogynistic, horny ass that does not know how to talk to women.

The scene I wish to focus on occurs at a party at Hank's agent/bestfriend's boss' house. The friend goes off hitting on women and Runkle shares upsetting news with his wife about the woman he cheated on her with during the second season while Hank does his own thing. HAnk and his frined meet up later and the friend says that he will go down swinging with the woman at the other side of the pool. It automatically cuts to the next scene in which Hank is playing pool and the friend returns wet and distressed.

The friend says that he punched the lady when she gave him a nasy surprise and Hank, much to my admiration and respect, responded that she is a human being and that it is not cool to hit people. The transwoman runs up the stairs ready to fight with Hank's friend and Hank apologizes to her on his friend's behalf-and even hits on her a little-sparking a fight between the two. The transexual leaves and the agent's boss shows up, breaking the fight and declaring that she will not tolerate any discrimination towards anyone in her households on grounds of sexual orientation.

The scene is only two minutes long-if that-but it has given me new found respect for the show and I felt I should share.

I cannot wait for more Californication!!!!!!

Lain.

A bad peom

Here is the whole version of the poem I started last night. It is artistically inept, but it is what it is. If that makes sense to you then enjoying reading the pain of a sick mind!!! :)

Pierce me through the heart
Disembowel my entrails
Crack my skull in two
With your furious red heel
It descends upon
My whitened crown of pale bone
Splitting it into
Ground micro-fragments gray as stone

Heart and mind
Removed as one
One with knife
Latter undone
Red and white
Sweet blood and bone

Steel beckoning
With slanted tongues
Behold before you
That fate is mine
Should have known better
But I was young
Do away with me
Into the grind

Wow, I just realized how much it sucks. It is a good thing that I do not try to get paid for my voice. XD Anyway, that is all until Tuesday.
